Award-winning theses in optimization
We are delighted that several theses in the field of optimization were awarded prizes at this year's graduation ceremony! Cansu Kilic received the Bachelor's Prize from the German Operations Research Society (GOR) for her thesis “Modellierung sicherer Schulwege mittels ordinaler Kosten.” The Barmenia Sponsorship Award in the B.Sc. Applied Science program went to Jakob Dühr for his thesis entitled “Shooting methods for differential equations with application in the investigation of bifurcations.” In addition, prizes were awarded for the following master's theses: “Constructing Low Discrepancy Point Sets by Fusion: An Optimization Approach” by Rabea Freese was awarded second prize in the Barmenia Mathematics Prize. The third Barmenia Mathematics Prize went to Eric Weyl for his thesis on “Multi-Objective Optimization of Port-Hamiltonian Neural Network.” Congratulations!
